    Who you got? (Baseball)

Same as yesterday don't take into account future success/failure. Your playing for the state title who do you want on the mound:

    Tracy Stallard
    Doug Bates

    Charlie Beverly
The test is simple, if "your" team wins a national championship, do you get a championship ring? If the answer is yes, then you can say "we." If not, you can't.

Hard to argue vs Bates. He was an awesome pitcher. Beverly's stuff (from what I have been told) was as good at very least (many around Wise say it was better) than Bates'.

    Re: Who you got? (Baseball)

you guys are kidding right......Tracy Stallard pitched for the RED SOX. and not just pitched a game or two, he pitched for 7 years in the majors. And it wasnt just the majors then, it was THE sport in america (baseballs hey-day), and it wasnt diluted down by expansion.

LEt me ask you all this, ive heard from sources that during his senior year, the district just stopped the season. Coeburn was so good that they didnt finish out the season. anyone heard this??

and by the way, he only pitched 4 games in his first year, but ted williams was on that team. his second year in boston, carl yastrzemski was on that team!
he pitched with Bob Gibson in STL and Casey Stengel was his manager.

Stallard may have been a good pitcher, but he certainly didn't help himself at all.

Once again, the point of this is to NOT look into their future success.

    Re: Who you got? (Baseball)

Tracy Stallard is in his 70s so I doubt anyone on this forum ever saw him pitch in high school.
